About this project
English notes, written plainly, for anyone learning English — anywhere.
EnglishNotes.net is an independent, free educational resource. We write grammar, vocabulary, writing, speaking, and exam-prep notes in plain language, aimed at learners everywhere — not just one country or one exam board.
Why we built this
Most English-learning material online falls into two categories: dense academic references that are hard to read, or short social-media tips with no real structure. We wanted something in between — notes clear enough to read in one sitting, thorough enough to actually rely on, and organised the way a good teacher would build a syllabus.
Who this is for
EnglishNotes.net is written for an international audience: students preparing for exams like IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE; professionals who use English at work; self-taught learners building fluency on their own; and complete beginners taking their first steps. Examples throughout the site use neutral, international contexts rather than references specific to one country, because English is learned — and used — everywhere.
How the notes are written
Each note follows the same approach: a plain-language explanation first, then real example sentences, then a short section on the mistake learners make most often with that topic. We'd rather explain one idea clearly than list twenty rules without context.
Free, and staying free
All notes on this site are free to read, with no account or sign-up required. The site may show light, clearly-labelled advertising outside of lesson content to help cover hosting and writing costs — but lesson content itself will never sit behind a paywall.
A related project
For learners who prefer studying in Hindi, our related project HindiNotes.com offers notes in Hindi, including a dedicated English notes section for Hindi-speaking students. EnglishNotes.net itself is written entirely in English, for a global audience.
