Choose IELTS if…

Choose TOEFL iBT if…
- You're applying mainly to universities in the United States.
- You're comfortable typing your essays and speaking into a microphone under time pressure.
- Your target institution has a stated TOEFL score requirement.
Choose PTE Academic if…
- You want the fastest possible results (often within two days).
- You prefer a fully computer-scored exam with less subjectivity in scoring.
- Your destination country/institution accepts PTE (increasingly common for Australia, UK, and Canada visas).

Regardless of which exam you choose, the underlying skills you need are the same: strong grammar accuracy, a wide practical vocabulary, clear paragraph structure in writing, and the ability to speak or write fluently under time pressure.
